Pro Europa was formed in 2012 to bring Brits in Brussels together to discuss the state of UK-EU relations and what we could do to improve knowledge of the EU in the UK. After decades of "euro-bashing" by the tabloid press, talk of leaving the EU was increasing.  The British public were seriously misinformed about Brussels, and while some frustrations were justified, leaving the EU was not the answer to the real challenges facing Britain.

Pro Europa provided a bridge between Brussels and UK-based stakeholders and campaign groups, hosting debates and events, developing fact-based communications materials and supporting efforts to counter disinformation and to Remain in the EU.

After the referendum, Pro Europa supported efforts to get a people's vote on the proposed deal. Pro Europa is allied with the Grassroots for Europe citizen movements in favour of a strong united Europe including Britain.
